Care & Longevity

Half of how long it lastsis up to you.

We build the tee to survive years of use. What follows is the other half of that promise — the handful of habits that decide whether it gets there.

Never

  • Tumble dry on heat — this is what shrinks a heavy knit
  • Bleach, including detergents with optical brighteners
  • Fabric softener, which coats the fibre and dulls the hand
  • Wring or twist it to drain
  • Dry it in direct sun, which is what actually fades colour
  • Iron directly over the neck tape

Always

  • Wash cold, 30°C or below
  • Turn it inside out first
  • Wash with similar colours
  • Press the water out and hang dry in shade
  • Steam, or warm iron inside out
  • Wash it only when it needs washing

The wash log

We said 50+ washes. Here is the record.

A durability claim is only worth the testing behind it. This is the same tee, checked at intervals, washed exactly the way the guide above asks you to.

  1. Wash 1

    The reference

Straight off the line. Every later check is measured against this one.

  2. Wash 5

    The hand softens

The fabric relaxes and the structure does not. Most people say this is the point it starts feeling like theirs.

  3. Wash 25

    Collar holds its round

The rib still returns. No drift at the hem, no twist through the body.

  4. Wash 50

    Still holding

Colour holds. Structure holds. This is where we stopped testing, not where the tee stopped.

Washed cold and hung dry in shade, as above. Treated differently, it will age differently — which is the whole reason the guide exists. Photographs of each stage are being shot and will be added here.

Look after it and it willoutlast the reason you bought it.
